Worry

When we feel powerless, we worry. Let God speak to you through these verses.

Pray about Everything

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God ."

Philippians 4:6

Give it to God

"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved."

Psalm 55:22

Trust God through It

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Proverbs 3:5, 6

Anger

Anger

Anger is a normal emotion. How does God tell us to handle this emotion?

Be Careful

"Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil."

Ephesians 4:26,27

Take Time, Give it to God So You Can Respond the Godly Way

"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

Ephesians 4: 29 - 32

Hold Your Tongue

"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."

Proverbs 15:1

Discouragement

Discouragement

"Lord, things didn't work out the way I had hoped. Please speak to me."

God Isn't Finished

"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart;

Wait, I say, on the Lord!"

Psalm 27:13-14

Stand Strong

"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.  He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved."

Psalm 62:5,6

Wait on the Lord

"Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me."

Micah 7:7

Forgiveness

Forgiveness

We are all fallible and others will hurt our feelings or make us angry. It's not easy to forgive, but we can.

Have Patience with the Offending Person

"Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."

Colossians 3:13

Don't Seek Revenge

Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.  Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore  If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:14-21

Forgive Others, so God Will Forgive You

"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Matthew 6:14-15

You Can Know God

You Can Know god

by Ellen Garcia

When I was a young girl, my parents read the Bible to me and took me to church, but they said I had to learn to hear and see God myself. I needed to find a place to meet God where it was quiet enough to think and to go there every day to speak with Him. Just like Adam did every evening.

Naturally, I was perplexed. How could Someone who made the sun, moon and stars speak to me? "Don't worry," Mom said. "He speaks every language because he invented languages, and he knows how you hear because He made your ears. "If you are interested, He will make sure you hear."

So, after breakfast every day I would sit on the steps and chat with "God". I wasn't sure it was Him, but I spoke aloud as if He were standing right there. My Father mentioned that if He tells you to do something, you need to do it quickly because your life might depend upon it. You see, my parents were missionaries where being a Christian was illegal.

Days later, I went to store to buy bread and before I was to cross a busy six lane street, I heard "God", the voice I'd been speaking with daily, shout "Ellen!" I turned around and saw no one. Maybe this was God?!? I turned to cross the street and He shouted my name again. No one was behind me again!

I was sure it was Him this time. At that very moment, a car ran through the red light in the middle of the street where I would have been. Like Samuel, I learned a lot about God's voice that day.

God doesn't speak aloud every day. Sometimes He gives a thought, a suggestion or He'll remind you of an idea from the Bible that relates to what you are doing. So, read the whole Bible.

He can't remind you of something you haven't read. And God never contradicts what is in the Bible.

God is real, He loves you and He speaks.

"You will seek Me and find Me when you search for me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13

Jesus and Me

My Life Is Different

by Leah Childers

I grew up in church, but I didn't really read the Bible. I heard about Jesus, I prayed the sinner's prayer, but I didn't seem to have the relationship with God that others had. I prayed at mealtime, and I felt that I was a pretty "good person". To be honest, deep down I wasn't sure what I truly believed. Was I really going to Heaven?

I remember hearing this verse, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” - Jeremiah 29:13

With that verse in mind, one day I sat down on my bed and asked God to make Himself known to me. It didn't matter what my mother and father believed or that I went to church sometimes. This had to be between Jesus and Me. It had to be personal.

I knew what the Bible said to do, but the real question was, "Do I truly believe all of this in my heart?"

I thought about the most famous Bible verse, John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Two other verses came to my mind.

Romans 10:9-10

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation".

I thought about it.

Do I realize that I'm a sinner? Yes. Do I really believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead? Yes. I do.

One final verse came to me.

"But as many as RECEIVED him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name".

I had to accept and receive Jesus into my life as my PERSONAL Lord and Savior. I had to decide that I'd wholeheartedly obey Jesus because I love Him. I know all that He did for me.  Was I ready to give my life to Him?

I remember sitting on my bed and deciding that I wanted to give Jesus my heart and my life. I told Jesus that I believed in Him and would follow Him.

My life has changed. Jesus has saved me.

No matter what happens, I belong to Jesus.

I'm not perfect. I mess up, but Jesus said in

I John 1:9 to tell Him that I'm sorry, mean it in my heart and He'll forgive me.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Wow! What peace!

God is my Heavenly Father. He knows me. I can pray to Him anytime and He hears me. I read His Word so I can hear from Him. He has changed my life and my eternity forever.

Thank you, Jesus.
