God extols wisdom and knowledge. They're worth pursuing. But don't leap to the conclusion that they're the same thing! They're not. They're very different values with different benefits.
A Merriam-Webster definition of knowledge is, "The Range of one's information or understanding."
Oxford Learner's Dictionary says it's, "The information, understanding, and skills that you gain from education and experience."
Wisdom, is the prudent application of knowledge. For example, knowledge is knowing why your pastor's messages are boring. Wisdom is knowing how, when, and if to discuss it with him.
As we've just shown, wisdom and knowledge are different, but you do need both of them. You can't be wise if you're empty headed. The Bible says a wise person seeks knowledge.
Hopefully, you now have command of both of these concepts. Knowledge is a body of information acquired through different ways. And wisdom is a sensible use of that knowledge. They both come from God. Proverbs 2:6 says, "For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth knowledge and understanding. If you feel you lack wisdom, ask your Heavenly Father. This is something He promises to provide.
